Multimodal 2011 Set to be UK’s Biggest Freight Exhibition

The UK’s leading event for the freight transport and logistics industry, Multimodal 2011, which runs this week at the NEC in Birmingham between 5th and 7th April, will be the biggest in the event’s history.

This year the event welcomes over 45 new exhibitors from all modes of the transport chain, bringing the total number of companies with stands at the event to just under 200.

In addition, Multimodal will feature a whole array of seminars, workshops, trade briefings, networking occasions and features.  All are free-of-charge to visitors.

Pre-registered visitors to Multimodal 2010 include: Sainsbury’s, United Biscuits UK, Jaguar Land Rover, Ford Motor Company, Kodak, Cadbury, Nestlé,  Marks & Spencer, Dyson, Mothercare, Pepsico and Shell, to name but a few.

With the whole show now occupying 17,500 sq metres of floor space at Birmingham’s NEC, this is promising to be the largest Multimodal of all.

Exhibitors range from ports, shipping lines, rail operators, airlines, road hauliers, and logistics providers through to equipment suppliers, technical and IT support providers, academic institutions, trade associations and government bodies. Visitors are drawn from the ranks of major shippers, retailers and industry.

One of the main attractions of the event is the comprehensive programme of seminars and industry briefings running on each of the three days of the event and organised by the Shipper’s Voice and the Trade Extension (to see full programme click here ), which are designed to give shippers and transport operators the opportunity to exchange views and to learn from some of the leading experts in the industry.

“Multimodal 2011 will be our fourth event and each year we have built on the success of the previous one.” said Event Director, Robert Jervis, “We have an impressive number of new exhibitors this year taking us to a total of nearly 200, and a distinguished range of speakers are lined up to talk at the event. But it is the growth of Multimodal as the accepted prime location for industry professionals to meet of which I am most proud. It is now an essential date for their diaries. I am confident of Multimodal 2011 success for all who visit or exhibit”.

Multimodal at the NEC from 5-7 April 2011, and visitor registration is free.

About Multimodal:

Taking place from 5th to 7th April 2011 at Birmingham’s National Exhibition Centre (NEC), Multimodal aims to attract a large group of exhibitors and visitors from across the whole spectrum of freight transport, logistics and supply chain service providers than it ever has before.

Multimodal 2011 is the only UK event that brings together all sectors of freight transport under a single roof.  The Seminars and Briefings which are an integral part of the event, have scheduled an enlightening and thought-provoking range of topics, tackled in an interactive fashion by panels of experts or as briefings presented by representatives from centres of excellence. Topics range from insight into the media, customs, container shipping trends, container swaps, security, reducing empty loads and ports’ role in adding value, to e-sourcing, collaborative logistics, supply chain optimisation, key performance indices (KPIs) and logistics data analytics.
